Position Overview:
The Fundraising Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing fundraising activities for Framingham Youth Softball. This role involves coordinating events, securing sponsorships, and engaging the community to maximize fundraising efforts. The chair will lead a team of 5-10 volunteers to develop creative and effective fundraising initiatives while ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Planning:
Develop an annual fundraising plan that aligns with the organization’s financial goals.
Research and implement a variety of fundraising methods, including events, sponsorships, and online campaigns.
Set fundraising targets and track progress throughout the season.
Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit and organize volunteers to assist with fundraising efforts.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to committee members to ensure smooth execution of fundraising initiatives.
Provide guidance and motivation to keep volunteers engaged and productive.
Sponsorship & Community Engagement:
Identify and reach out to potential sponsors, including local businesses and community partners.
Develop sponsorship packages and maintain positive relationships with sponsors.
Promote the organization’s mission and fundraising goals within the community.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Track and document all funds raised through various initiatives.
Work with the treasurer to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
Provide regular fundraising updates to the FYS board.
Communication & Promotion:
Promote fundraising efforts through social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
Create flyers, emails, and other materials to inform families and supporters about fundraising opportunities.
Encourage participation and donations from parents, players, and community members.
Grant Research & Applications (if applicable):
Research potential grants and funding opportunities for youth sports programs.
Assist in writing and submitting grant applications.
This role plays a vital part in securing the resources needed to enhance the Framingham Youth softball program, support players, and fund essential expenses. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and enthusiastic about engaging the community in support of youth athletics.
